Ekovilla Smart X
Vapour Barrier Membrane
Ekovilla Smart X is a vapour barrier membrane with variable water vapour resistance. Unlike traditional vapour barrier plastics, the water vapour resistance of the Smart X membrane changes depending on the surrounding relative air humidity. It allows the structures to dry inwards when the relative humidity rises. This feature reduces the risk of moisture condensation inside the structures and improves the fault tolerance of structures compared to vapour barrier plastic.

Ekovilla Smart X vapour barrier membrane is used as an internal air and vapour barrier for walls, ceilings, and floors insulated by fibrous insulation material.
Installation
Ekovilla Smart X is quick and easy to install. It withstands handling without tearing and can be installed even in difficult locations owing to its flexibility. Furthermore, the transparency of the fabric facilitates attachment to timber frame elements.
The membrane is fixed by stapling at 200 mm intervals. The joints are overlapped 200 mm and joint durability is ensured by Ekovilla X Sealing tape.
